My young adulthood is about to come back in a big way.
Girl Meets World, the sequel to Boy Meets World had it’s world premiere on June 27th.
The pilot starts 14 years after the first series ended. Corey (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are now living in New York City with their two kids, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Auggie (August Maturo). Topanga is a lawyer and Corey teaches junior high school history. Riley and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) are Corey’s students.
I enjoyed the pilot, if only for sentimental value. My generation grew up with Corey, Topanga & Co, so it’s kind of surreal to see them as adults with children as their own.
Will I watch? I haven’t watched Disney channel in years and I don’t get Disney anymore in my cable package, so probably not. But for the tween set, I can see this show taking on a life of its own separate from Boy Meets World.
And if any adults want to watch (and I know you want to), the pilot is on Itunes.
