Throwback Thursday-Cheers- (1982-1993)

We all need that local watering hole. You walk in, sit down and it’s like your home.

The classic television show Cheers (1982-1993), was centered on a bar in Boston. The plots focused on the staff and the patrons who were regulars.

Sam Malone (Ted Danson), a former baseball player and alcoholic owns the bar. Diane Chambers (Shelley Long) is a waitress who believes that she is intellectually above everyone else around her. Smart ass Carla Tortelli (Rhea Perlman) is another waitress who is known for her wise cracks. The regulars include Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger), Norm Peterson (George Wendt) and Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammar).

Anyone over a certain age remembers Cheers fondly. But that does not mean that being under a certain age means that this show is not entertaining. There was a human quality to the characters, which is why the show lasted 11 years and is still remember 23 years after the final episode premiered.

I recommend it.
