An Open Letter To Quentin Tarantino

Dear Quentin Tarantino

Before I go any farther, I must state that I respect your right to speak your opinion as an American. I also respect your right to use your voice as an artist and a filmmaker to share your point of view.

However, that does not mean that I agree with you on your view of the police.

There is an old saying: “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you‘ve walked a mile in their shoes”.

For you to make a blanket statement regarding every member of every police force across the country is wrong.  Like any group, there is always one or two bad apples. But to condemn the police as a group and to accuse them of murder is wrong. It gives criminals a free pass to kill hard-working police men and women who risk life and limb to protect the average citizen.

I am not a fan of your movies, though I did enjoy Inglorious Basterds.

You have every right to speak and have your opinion heard. But that does not give you the right to agitate and incite. If I had any interest in seeing your next film (which I really had not considered previously), I have zero interest now.
