Throwback Thursday-Junior (1994)

They say that you can never truly know a person until you walk a mile in their shoes. I’d like to add something to that. A man can never know what it is to be a pregnant woman until he himself is pregnant.

In 1994 movie Junior, Drs. Alex Hesse (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Larry Arbogast (Danny DeVito) and Diana Reddin (Emma Thompson) are working on a new drug that they hope will prevent future miscarriages. When the funding they very badly need does not appear and human test subjects are denied to them, Dr. Hesse agrees to be the test subject. It all starts off well, in the name of science and humanity. Then Dr. Hesse  starts to bond with the child growing inside of him and the situation is no longer black and white.

This movie is very interesting. It explores what happens when emotions, the questioning of morals and science mix.

Do I recommend it? Maybe. The cast is excellent, but even for a comedy, it’s a little heavy.
