Post 9/11-We Can Smile Again

This past weekend, we remembered the nearly 3000 innocent lives that were taken on September 11th, 2001.

My company moved offices to lower Manhattan a few months ago. My building is right across from where the Twin Towers stood.

Normally I don’t look up. Last week and this week I looked up.

We all experience tragedy, whether on a personal level or on a societal level. While the emotional wounds from 9/11 will never truly heal, we can heal and find a reason to smile.

The skies were blue and the weather was warm as it was that September 15 years ago.

It’s ok to mourn and remember what was. Just remember that once the tears dry, let the smile shine through.
