“Hereby” is a Term Used By Kings and Autocrats, Not By Democratically Elected Presidents

It’s no secret that over the last three years, you know who and his administration has upended most, if not all political norms. They have been also slowly eroding American democracy in the process.

In his recent statement, you know who stated the following in regards to the new tariffs on China:

Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing our companies HOME and making your products in the USA.

The word “hereby” is a term used by kings and autocrats. It is not a term used by a democratically elected President. The fact that he used that term is another step in the direction away from democracy as we know it to be.

I’m not an expert in this area of business. But the people who are experts in this field have weighed in. The costs of the tariff will hit the average American business and the average American consumer where it hurts: in the wallet. One of the ways that we vote is with our wallets. The last thing that I think anyone running or re-running for political office is to not be elected because of financial concerns of the American voter.

The thing I find interesting is what while he orders American businesses to leave China, he made money by having his own line of products made in China.

I highly suggest that come next fall, we vote this man out of office and replace him with a President who is able to run this country.
