Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies: Amazing Women on What the F-Word Means to Them Book Review

The myth about feminists that we are all man hating, unattractive, angry women who wants to replace men. That of course, is a lie, but when a lie is repeated, it is though to be truth.

Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies: Amazing Women on What the F-Word Means to Them was published this year. The book contains a series of essays written by a cross section of women who define themselves as feminists. Published in partnership with Girl Up and curated by Scarlett Curtis, the subjects of the essays touch on every issue that modern feminists are facing today.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it because it spoke truth to power. Each women tells her own story in a way that feels intimate, liberating and powerful. We know that we have a long way to go before true equality is within our grasp. What this book does is empower it’s readers to move forward and continue to fight for equality. We know it will come, we just have to push forward until it is ours.

I recommend it.
