A satire, when done right is a wonderful thing. The perfect satire contains both comedy and a kernel of truth.
The short-lived series, Grosse Pointe (2000-2001), is a satirical behind the scenes comedy about the young cast of a 90210-esque series. Starring Irene Malloy, Lindsay Sloane and Bonnie Sommerville, the show poked fun at high school evening melodramas and the personalities who populate the behind the scenes world of this genre.
I can see why the show lasted as long as it did. While it tried to lovingly mock 90210 and other shows of that ilk, something was not quite right.
Do I recommend it? No.
