The Lies Republicans Tell Themselves: Kevin McCarthy on Jan 6 & MTG on the Stand

We all tell ourselves lies. It is part of human nature. What it comes down to at the end of the day, is the effect the lies have. It is just for ourselves or will they create figurative ripples that also affect others?

Recently, two major figures in the Republican party once again proved that they are cowards, fakes, and liars.

In a leaked tape regarding the riot on January 6th, Kevin McCarthy spoke of his frustration with you know who. Now he claims that the statements on the recording are fake.

Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken the stand to defend her comments in regard to that day. Voters in her home state of Georgia are looking for legal avenues to prevent her from running again. Her answers to the questions by the prosecutor were largely “I don’t know” or “I don’t recall”.

It is suspiciously curious that when forced to admit the truth, these people have either selective memories or profess that publicly verified remarks are untrue in one form or another. I know that no one is perfect, but, the reality they live in is not just their own. It has the power to affect the entire country not just in the present, but for decades to come.

New Randy Rainbow Video: GURL, YOU’RE A KAREN – A Randy Rainbow Parody

Karen used to be just another name. These days, a Karen is known as a middle-class or upper-middle-class Caucasian woman who believes that she is above certain people and is not afraid to verbalize her status.

Randy Rainbow, as he always does is not afraid to call out the bullshit. His newest video is GURL, YOU’RE A KAREN – A Randy Rainbow Parody. Based on the song Dentist! from the musical Little Shop of Horrors, he points out the two most obvious Karens in CongressLauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more. The ridiculousness of these two is off the charts. Instead of representing their constituents and doing the job they were hired to do, they are wasting the taxpayer’s time and money on bullshit.

I can’t wait for the day that they are no longer in the halls of power. But until then, we have Rainbow to keep us from losing our minds.

More Republican Fuckery: FL’s “Don’t Say Gay” Law, TX’s Anti-Transgender, Cowardly Kevin McCarthy, and MI’s Banning Contraception For Married Couples

It says something about a nation when one political party is focused on the future and bringing people together while the other one is focused on the past and pulling people apart.

In both Texas and Florida, laws against the LGBTQ community and LGBTQ kids have created a dangerous precedent that puts lives at risk. As of Monday, the “Don’t Say Gay” law in Florida is one step closer to becoming law. The details of the bill are as follows:

Should the bill become law, Florida educators would be barred from speaking to primary school students about certain LGBTQ+ topics that are not considered “age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.”

Under the bill, parents would also have greater authority to take legal action against school districts they believe to be in violation.

In Texas, parents of transgender children who seek out hormone therapy to help their offspring become their true selves could be characterized as child abusers. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to foresee the potential mental health issues that may have a hugely detrimental effect on an entire generation. If we lose young lives due to these laws, the blood will be on the hands of those who wrote and supported these pieces of legislation.

Several weeks ago, Kevin McCarthy was asked by a member of the press about January 6th. Instead of answering her question, he ran away.

Contrast this to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. When asked by the US if he wanted to get out of the line of fire, he said no and asked for ammunition. We should all be so lucky to have a President like him.

Finally, in Michigan, the three Republican candidates for State Attorney General were asked about the 1965 Supreme Court decision Griswold vs. Connecticut. The ruling states that married couples can buy contraception without the government stepping in. All three of them (who are all men, if it was not already obvious) state that they believed it was up to the state and not the federal government.

Who are they to make these decisions? When Roe V. Wade was ratified as the law of the land in 1972, it came down to privacy. That same concept applies to married couples. The choice to end a pregnancy and/or use contraception is one that belongs to those who are involved in that process and no one else.

Just another day of Republican fuckery.

P.S. I hope I was not the only was one who was offended and horrified by the outburst by Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene during last night’s State of the Union. It was akin to drunken idiots insulting the opposing team during a baseball or football game. What is worse is that they chose to do this when President Biden was speaking about his son who he lost to cancer. How much more disrespectful can they get?

Republican Fuckery: MTG’s Gazpacho Comment & You Know Who’s Burning Documents

When it comes to the United States, we want to believe that the people who work at the highest levels of our government are good faith actors, even if we do not agree with them.

The last few years have proven us wrong.

Last week, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene misspoke when she referred to Capitol police as Gazpacho police. Gazpacho is a type of soup.

“Not only do we have the DC jail, which is the DC gulag, now we have Nancy Pelosi’s Gazpacho Police spying on members of Congress,”

What she meant to say was Gestapo. In Europe during World War II, they were the undercover arm of the police and were known for not being subtle or gentle in doing their job. I would love to laugh at her, knowing that this is not the first stupid comment she has made and it will likely not be the last. But I can’t. Once more the inappropriate use of Holocaust imagery is being used in a way that at best is misunderstood and at worst disrespectful.

In other news, he who shall not be named is accused of violating the Presidential Records Act. It requires all outgoing Presidential administrations to transfer all documentation to the National Archives. In a move that surprises no one, he is accused of taking boxes of classified documents to his home in Florida and destroying other paperwork along the way.

I don’t know about anyone else, this screams that he has something to hide. When someone is innocent of the crimes they are being accused of, they act in a certain manner. When they are guilty and know that they have done something wrong, they do anything and everything in their power to hide the evidence. The hypocrisy and silence from the right compared to the accusations leveled at Hillary Clinton during the last days of the 2016 Presidential election says it all.

Just another day of Republican fuckery in America.

Of course, Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls Kwanzaa a Fake Religion

In my experience, the mark of a mature adult is one who knows (or at least tries) to keep their mouth shut when they lack knowledge on a particular subject.

Last week, Marjorie Taylor Greene stated the following about the holiday of Kwanzaa via Twitter.

“Stop. It’s a fake religion created by a psychopath,”

First of all, it is a holiday, not a religion. Second of all, this is classic MTG behavior. Instead of doing a little research (or a simple Google search), she opened her mouth and shit spewed out.

I am convinced that there are some members of the Republican party who says outrageous things, knowing the attention they will receive from such statements. Instead of doing the job they were hired to do, they distract the public from the fact that they are unwilling or unable to complete their legislative responsibilities. In any other profession and any other industry, they would have been fired a long time ago. But because these people are in the position they are in, they can act with impunity and still retain their office.

The only thing that makes me feel better in all of this bullshit is that one of Green’s Twitter account is permanently suspended.

P.S. Happy belated Kwanzaa to all who celebrated.

New Randy Rainbow Video: MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE – A Randy Rainbow Song Parody

It was not that long ago that fringe groups with out there ideas were just that. They lived in the corners of the internet that most of us didn’t even know about or consider looking at. Then you know who was elected.

Though he is out of office (Thank G-d), his influence still persists and will do so for a long time. The most obvious sign of his still lingering sway is Marjorie Taylor Greene. Randy Rainbow released his latest video today with her as the subject.

The song Rainbow is using is Evergreen from the 1976 adaptation of A Star is Born. If there was a way to insert his picture next the word “genius” in the dictionary, I would happily add it. Taylor Greene is not just your average Republican, her views are dangerous. It says something when Karl Rove, one of the big wigs of the party, called out his colleagues to do the right thing.

The fact is that this woman has to go. If she doesn’t, it will tell me everything about the Republican party that I will ever need to know.

How is Marjorie Taylor Greene Still in Congress?

The idea of becoming a lawmaker to represent and speak for the voters in your area is a noble one. But not everyone who is elected is worthy of the job they have been hired to do by their constituents.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been in Congress for only a short time. But in that short time, she has become a controversial figure. Being a vocal supporter of you know who and QAnon might have been enough, but it was not. She has claimed that the Parkland and Newtown shootings were staged, has advocated for the murders of Democratic leaders, and blamed the recent wildfires on Jewish space lasers.

Minority leader Kevin McCarthy has stated that he will talk to Representative Taylor Greene about her statements. It will be nothing more than a slap on the wrist. She will likely keep her seat on the education committee and be allowed to continue to spew the poisonous lies that are coming out of her mouth.

A slap on the wrist and is the last thing this woman needs. She is entitled to her opinions, as we all are. However, there is a distinct line between one’s cultural/political perspective and making the type of statements she is making. She must be expelled from Congress if we are move on from the chaos and darkness of the last four years.
