One of the beautiful things about our democracy is the ability to openly mock and satirize our leaders. This administration has been too deliciously easy to mock and satirize.
I could go on and on, but I will let Randy Rainbow do it for me. Be prepared to bust a gut a laughing.
I could talk about the title of Star Wars, Episode 8, but I think the video above says it all. December 15th better come quickly.
In light of the leaking of the tapes this weekend, perhaps a change for the better is on the horizon.
The language in the video is not new. Women have been viewed as mindless, brainless, soul less sexual objects since the beginning of time. The Republican Party (especially the male politicians) in recent years has not been shy about their repellent and antiquated views on women-centric topics (i.e. abortion, rape and sexual assault).
Only time will tell who takes the oath of office next year. I can only hope that the leak of the Trump tapes will open the door to an honest discussion of very difficult topics and the steps we need to take to ensure that these conversations are no longer needed.
I’m still with her and you should be too.
I saw this video earlier this morning and I can’t think of a better way to usher in Rosh Hashanah.
I won’t lie, I have faced difficulties this past year, like we all do. Sometimes it feels like I am stuck, that my dreams will remain my dreams. Sometimes it feels like doing the work required to transform my dreams into reality feels futile.
Then this video reminded me that life can change for the better. What we are working for in life, we can achieve.
To all those who celebrate Rosh Hashanah, L’Shana Tova, have a sweet and happy new year. To those who are struggling, regardless of your faith, hang on. Someday, somehow, things will change for the better.
Have a good week and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
This video was initially posted during the 2012 election. The message, especially considering that Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, is as important as it was four years ago.
We need a President who is rational, is calm, understands the value of tact and most of all, is not living in the dark ages when it comes to American women.
Voting for Hillary is a vote for our daughter’s future. I’m with her and you should be too.
Has anyone else seen the new trailer for the new adaptation of Anne Of Green Gables?
Starring Martin Sheen and Sara Botsford as the supposedly curmudgeonly brother and sister duo Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert and Ella Ballentine as the title character, Anne Shirley is an orphaned girl adopted by Matthew and Marilla. They were expecting a boy to help them on the farm, what they got was a red-headed, uber imaginative, fast talking girl.
While the trailer is promising, only time will tell if this adaptation lives up to its predecessor.
My only wishes are that this new adaptation remains true to the books and Megan Follows has a cameo.
Have a nice weekend.
A video hit the internet last week. Comedian Amy Schumer was performing in Stockholm when a male audience member called out a request that inappropriate to say the least. Her response was brilliant.
Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day.
We have come so far, but there is so much more to go….
I live in New York City, one of the most diverse cities in the world. For every native New Yorker whose familial roots are deep in the city, there are many others whose familial origins or birthplace is not New York.
Because this is a diverse city, there is a lot of talk of acceptance and respect for those who have different political, social or religious beliefs. The question is, are we receiving lip service or is diversity and respect for another culture/religion truly important?
The video above proves that we have choices in life when it comes to love and hate. We can choose to live and let live or we can waste our energy on hating someone because they believe differently than we do.
If it were up to me, I would choose love because I have one life to live and I would prefer not to waste my one shot around this earth on hating someone because they see the world differently than I do.
But that is how I see the world.
Today is Father’s Day. I can’t think of a better song to honor my wonderful father than Yellowcard’s Life Of A Salesman.
Without my father, I would be a very different woman.
Happy Father’s Day, Daddy, I love you very much.
