Flashback Friday-ShakespeaRe-Told (2005)

Good writing lives forever. William Shakespeare’s writing is no exception. Newer adaptations have made some changes, but the core of the story and the character’s journey remains true to the original text.

In 2005, ShakespeaRe-Told took four of Shakespeare’s plays out of their Elizabethan era setting and put them in the modern times. Mucho Ado About Nothing, Taming Of The Shrew, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream were given a modern twist.

I found the productions to be enjoyable. While some changes were made to reflect the era, the stories and characters are true to the text as as 16th century performance.

I recommend it.
